Your first look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor looks a lot like, well, Lex Luthor? Entertainment Weekly had the exclusive and it seems that Zack Snyder and company aren’t taking the character in a radically different direction from we’re used to seeing. Speaking of Snyder, here’s what he had to say about the Lex Luthor we’ll be seeing in Batman v Superman:
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
I’m still confused as to why there are some people who aren’t a fan of Eisenberg’s casting as Lex. I mean, it’s not like he’s not had any practice playing a douchey rich guy before, right? Additionally, rumors on how this new Lex’s backstory (he’s got tattoos, was in a gang, and became a self-made millionaire at 18) have me very interested in seeing what the actor will bring to the role.
We’re officially a year away from the big DC courtroom drama, as Batman v Superman is set to release on March 25, 2016.
