Now we’re talking. After lots of hints and teases, the final trailer for Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil offers our best look at the series to date. The decidedly darker tone may had thought, hoped, and wished for is very much present – even if the classic red costume still isn’t (seriously, I know we’ll probably work up to it, but pirate Matt Murdock isn’t doing it for me).
The best part of the trailer is easily Vincent D’onofrio’s Wilson Fisk. I’m careful to say Fisk because I think it’s clear that this will be just as much his story as it is Matt Murdock’s. I like the fact that the show will live in shades of gray, presenting a foundation for the Kingpin to be just as motivated to save Hell’s Kitchen as Daredevil is, albeit for reasons the Man Without Fear might not agree with.
And that bit at the end was just a wonderful reminder of the larger world this show will inhabit. Bring on the binge!
Marvel’s Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent D’Onofrio. It’s showrun by Steven DeKnight and releases on Netflix April 10.
