Warner Bros. sets new Batman v Superman date, rest of DC film schedule

We’ll hear the opening remarks of Batman and Superman’s upcoming court case sooner than anticipated, as Warner Bros. has pushed up the date of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to March 25, 2016. Originally slated to go up against the next Captain America installment on May 6, 2016, it was conventional wisdom that Warner would look to avoid a box office blood bath. With Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy performing extraordinarily well over the weekend, perhaps Warner decided it was time for a move. The-helmed project will also release in 3D.

Additionally, the studio has set dates for a handful of untitled DC Comics film projects:

  • Untitled DC Film – 8/05/16
  • Untitled DC Film – 6/23/17
  • Untitled DC Film – 11/17/17
  • Untitled DC Film – 3/23/18
  • Untitled DC Film – 7/27/18
  • Untitled DC Film – 04/05/19
  • Untitled DC Film – 6/14/19
  • Untitled DC Film – 4/03/20
  • Untitled DC Film – 06/19/20

It’s safe to assume that those dates include movies for  Justice League, Wonder Woman, Shazam, a new Batman film, and perhaps a Man of Steel sequel. Time will tell, but this shows that DC and Warner are done playing second fiddle to Marvel Studios and want to take a run making an interconnected comic film universe.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing DC and Warner adapt for the big screen? Sound off in our comments.
