In news that surprises no one really, Warner Bros. might have found their Golden Boy in Zack Snyder. The Man of Steel director has earned some early praise of his take on, well, the Man of Steel, so much so, that depending on how well the film does at the box office–and all signs point to it doing very well–Snyder may be tapped to not only direct Superman and his adventures in Metropolis, but also helm the team up film that would be Warner’s answer to Marvel and Disney’s monster-hit film Avengers.
Justice League has been a film that has been anticipated since Christopher Nolan first helmed the Batman franchise nearly a decade ago. Many passes have been taken, including one from Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall, but all were abandoned in favor of a different take, which might match closer in tone with what Snyder is doing with the Last Son of Krypton. and, according to Empire:
Whether we get a ‘Justice League,’ [Warner Bros] say, depends on ‘Man of Steel.’ If we do, they say, Zack Snyder will be asked to direct.”
