S.H.I.E.L.D. Pilot Assembles Two More Agents

We’ve been pretty excited about the upcoming Marvel and Joss Whedon developed S.H.I.E.L.D. television show and today provided us with more details about the show. The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive on the latest casting news as actor Iain De Caestecker and actress Elizabeth Henstridge have joined the show. According the THR, De Caestecker will play Agent Leo Fitz, while  Henstridge will play Agent Gemma Simmons. Simmons is described as a “science whiz” while Fitz is a “technology guru.” The actors will spend most of their time together and will spend most of it bickering among each other.

De Caestecker and Henstridge join the previously announced Ming-Na and Clark Gregg.

Both actors are relatively unknown (although De Caestecker is up for a Scottish BAFTA), but I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before they have entire Tumblr tags developed to them. Information on the pilot is still pretty sparse, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more, but what did you think of the casting? Sound off in our comments below!
