UPDATE: Marvel NOW! Teasers Get Wordy

Say what you want about Marvel, but they REALLY excel at drawing out tantalizing teasers.

In the past week, Marvel has been releasing single word teaser posters along with the slow unveiling of characters files being tossed by the new Marvel Universe Nick Fury (It’s ok. I didn’t read Battle Scars either. Just go with it.).

It seems that along with the new monthly titles there will be a series of Point One issues starring Nova, Ant-Man, Cable, Star Lord, and the insanely random yet completely irresistible team up of Kid Loki, Wiccan, and Miss America. Please, oh PLEASE be the new Power Pack.

These Point One issues will feature work from Brian Michael Bendis, Matt Fraction, Nick Spencer, Kieron Gillen , Michael Allred, Steve McNiven, Jamie McKelvie, Salvador Larroca and many more.  These issues will serve to introduce new readers to the Marvel NOW! universe and set up storylines that will run though the books at large.

But just look at those teases…

Mark Waid and Leinil Francis Yu on HULK?!

Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic doing a THOR book?!

Make Mine Marvel,

UPDATE: Today saw the release of FOUR MORE teases, each more exciting than the last. MTV Geek revealed the LEGACY teaser that finds 2000AD scribe, Simon Spurrier taking over Mike Carey’s X-Men: Legacy title with art by Tan Eng Haut. Bold move, Marvel, bold move indeed.

IFanboy also gave our new Captain America team, Rick Remender and John Romita, Jr. I am excited for Remender’s move to the Marvel A-List, but lets’ hope this is more Avengers Romita and less AvX Romita.

The biggest announcement for THIS fanboy though would have to be Matt Fraction taking over The First Family with Fantastic Four and it’s companion book FF, with the always amazing duo of Mark Bagley and Mike Allred handling art. This fills me with a giddiness that can only be described as mania. USA Today gave us those whoppers of a tease.
